The exhibition , talks & workshop are presented by Comics Society (Singapore).
This is a month long annual event which puts the spotlight on locally created content.
SGOCF 2017 hopes to introduce the creative process behind comic creation, showcase outstanding local works,
and offer opportunities for creators and the public to interact.

1 – 27 July 2017 Original Comics Festival Exhibition Jurong Regional Library This is a month long annual event which puts the spotlight on locally created content. SGOCF 2017 hopes to introduce the creative process behind comic creation, showcase outstanding local works, and offer opportunities for creators and the public to interact. The anchor exhibition runs for the entire period with programmes held on certain days in between.

2 July 2017 1pm – 5pm Original Comics Festival Launch Talk Jurong Regional Library Programme Zone

*30 pax, 16 and above, registration is required. The talks will start at these times: 1) Book Launch Panel discussion (1pm) Join 3 artists, Yeo Hui Xuan – Dream walker series, The Reality World, volume 2; Clio Hui – A Deal with Lucifer, final volume 3; and Low Jia Hui – Pandora’s Scar Volume 2 as they talk about their new books.

2) Behind the Panels: A Deal With Lucifer (2pm) Clio Hui Kiri, comic creator of A Deal With Lucifer, will share her own comic creation process from concept to storyboarding, from drawing to inking and toning. She will also touch on some of the techniques she uses and tips that she finds useful.

3) Create, Draw & Publish! (3pm) Rixou, artist and mentor of mentorship and publishing platform Pura Comixmag shares pointers in comics production from pitching a comic story idea to a publisher, to different platforms to get your work published.

4) Dialogue session with Puracomixmag Artists (4pm) Join a dialogue session with 2 – 3 of our upcoming artists (Helix Goh – author of Lost And Found , Nikana , author of Sentinel Revelations and Gravitine – author of Ghost Resident and Black Mage) from the Puracomixmag mentorship programme as they share how they got started in comics creation and their experiences in the publishing platform!

16 July 2017 1.30pm – 4.30pm Original Comics Festival Workshop – Create your Superhero Jurong Regional Library Programme Zone Learn how to create your own superhero comic character from scratch! In this workshop, you will be guided by step-by-step instructions on how to create your very own character and design your characters’ costume and hairstyle from simple stickman drawings.

The only local event which puts Original Contents and their creators on the centre stage AND is supported by a full range of complementary programmes, Creative Market aims to promote fun and interactive communication between content creators and the public!

With a slew of activities from presentations by content creators, live demonstrations, and launching of exclusive new works, Creative Market aims to be a fun day out that brings together original creators and fans of locally created content- from children to adults!

This year, we have more than 30 comic book series, illustration books, and martial arts novels to be released during creative market!
