Absurd Narratives - Writing Stories for Comics by Shen Jiahui
Ever picked up a comic book and wondered about how absurd the stories are? Comic book stories are often seen as improbable in real life and that is often the charm of the medium as it allows writers, artists and readers to let their imagination run wild. This talk features some basic knowledge, techniques and exercises in narrative writing for comics and is suitable for all who just have an interest in comics or are keen to produce their own comic books.
About the author
Shen Jiahui - Author of The Makeup ToolBox
Jiahui is a comic artist who loves stories with strong female characters. Graduated from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Animation, she also has a big interest in makeup and thus obtained a Professional Diploma in Makeup Artistry.

Basic Comic Character Design Workshop
This fusion illustration programme will lead students in designing personalized characters and creatively customizing them. In the process, it will impart basic graphic layout capabilities. The lessons will also help them understand the artistic process of a comic artist and how emulating the workflow can hone visual communication skills.
